Residents

Our resident meal plans are designed to meet the unique needs of students living in traditional residence halls. Each plan includes a designated number of meal swipes, primarily used in the Culinary Center, along with Debit Dollars, a declining balance account that functions similarly to a debit card.

Resident meal plans also include a Meal Exchange option, allowing students to use a meal swipe at select retail dining locations for a predefined entrée, side, and beverage.

Multiple resident meal plan options are available, allowing students to choose the plan that best fits their dining preferences and needs.

Townhouse & College Suites

Available to upperclassmen and seniors living in our Townhouse and College Suites. These meal plan options provide flexible access to all dining locations across campus, with meal swipes and Debit Dollars to fit a variety of dining preferences and lifestyles.

Commuters

Our commuter plans are only available to students who do not live on campus. Our commuter plans are value oriented and designed specifically for our students who may not spend as much time on campus as the resident students. Commuter plans come with meal swipes, Debit Dollars and the meal exchange option.

Faculty & Staff

Meal Exchange

One Meal Exchange equals one set meal containing an entrée, a side, and a drink.

Think of a Meal Exchange as your "ticket" to a meal at an event - they do not have a Dollar Value.

  • What is Year Status?

    Meal plan options may vary based on a student’s stage in their academic journey. These plans are designed to support the typical needs and rhythms of students and are organized by the number of years enrolled at AU: first-year, second-year, third-year, and fourth+ year.

  • What is a Meal Swipe?

    Meal Swipes for Residential Plans are deposited onto your AU ID card at the beginning of each week and can be used until the end of the week. Other plans are on a semester basis. A Meal Swipe refers to any time you scan your AU ID to enter the Culinary Center or purchase a meal at one of AU’s retail locations during Meal Exchange hours.

  • What is a Meal Exchange?

    Meal Exchange provide students with set hours at each mealtime to use a Meal Swipe at one of AU’s retail locations: Chick-fil-A, Freshëns, Books and Beans, or P. Whit’s! Menu limitations may apply to the Meal Exchange.  Hours of Meal Exchange are as follows: Breakfast 7:00-9:30 am, Lunch 11:00 am-2:30 pm, Dinner 5:00-7:00 pm. P. Whit's Hours for Meal Exchange are the same but dinner is 5:00pm-9:00pm.

  • What are Debit Dollars?

    Debit Dollars are split equally for Fall and Spring semesters and are deposited onto your AU ID card at the beginning of each semester and work like a prepaid debit card. These Debit Dollars allow students to make purchases at any dining location, Culinary Center or retail, during their hours of operation.
